Wow - Ian I never saw this posting for some reason. As you know, I collect photos from the 69th Division. My grandfather was in an armor battalion attached to the 69th during the war and always told me stories from his actions later in the war while around the Leipzig area. Anyway, I have a rare set of images from the 369th Medics - two of which were taken during the link up. They are super original and came from a great album. I have the whole album together in a binder, but I took these two out to scan and post here. Can't believe I didn't find this earlier.......

I was there about 12 years ago. Ian did you get to see the little museum with the beat up row boat reported to be the one that the first GI's crossed on and were promptly captured by the Russians a day or two before the famous meeting?

Very nice photos. I am surprised to see all of the weapons being carried by the re-enactors and on the vehicles. I know they are probably deko and deactivated but I understand this is still very hard to do in Germany like this. Maybe times have changed. I have many friends in Germany that go to other countries to re-enact because of the strict laws in Germany.
